Our global HEOR/RWE practice is undergoing significant growth and we are looking for a qualified candidate to lead the expansion of our HEOR/RWE business for some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who is looking to join a dynamic and growing practice.


This position reports to the Executive Director of Business Development and will be responsible for identifying, targeting and generating new business for SmartAnalyst’s HEOR practice.


We are looking to hire a senior business development lead who will develop relationships with clients in HEOR, Epidemiology, and RWE, and sell new business engagements, including:

  • Economic modeling

  • Dynamic disease modeling

  • Literature review and evidence development

  • Prospective and retrospective studies

  • Real World Evidence: data analytics

  • Risk share modeling

  • Manuscript development

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing strategies aimed at identifying client needs, and closing business with clients

  • Developing and executing call plans to gain access to potential new clients, utilizing well-honed organizational and client management skills

  • Collaborating with the HEOR/RWE leadership team to develop capabilities presentations and proposals

  • Collaborating with the HEOR/RWE leadership team to successfully negotiate new client opportunities and manage client relationships

Experience in selling HEOR services is a must.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in consultative selling or solution-selling, preferably within a HEOR consultancy, strategy consulting firm, or CRO. A minimum of two years practical experience in business development and proposal development in the HEOR and pharma/biotech area is required.

Critical to success in this role is a strong understanding of the role of health economics and RWE studies within a pharmaceutical company, and the ability to understand client’s needs and how SmartAnalyst can provide a solution to support their business objectives.

The ideal candidate has developed and managed customer relationships at senior levels in the bio-pharmaceutical industry, and has a strong network of contacts within HEOR, RWE and Epidemiology.

The successful candidate will have a desire to use industry experience to drive new sales in the life sciences. Strong closing skills are essential and the ability to quickly develop relationships while providing consultative, value-added reasoning to utilize SmartAnalyst’s portfolio of services and expertise is necessary.

Personal Attributes: The successful candidate will be intelligent, self-motivated and self-driven, able to perform as a productive individual contributor while driving and closing sales opportunities at both new accounts and key customers .

Critical attributes include strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, organization, a bias for action, high level of adaptability and excellent analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Excellent communication skills, planning skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills are essential.

Our global oncology consulting practice is undergoing significant growth and we are looking for a qualified candidate to support the development of customized consulting projects for some of the world’s leading oncology pharmaceutical companies.  This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who is scientifically adept and looking to apply those skills in a consulting environment.  

Focused on client delivery/client projects by providing support to engagement managers/project leaders:

  • gather and analyze primary and secondary data sources to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses that will inform the project team and the client deliverable

  • work collaboratively to translate findings into narratives and insights that will be communicated to the client

  • assist in report writing/presentation development; develop sections of reports independently, depending on the project

  • participate in client meetings as required

  • 1-2 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or consulting; or post doctoral fellowship training in a cancer or immunology related field

  • Ability to critically and strategically evaluate scientific data and information, and distill and synthesize key findings

Graduate or professional degree involving significant analytic or quantitative coursework (e.g., business, math, science, economics, pharmacy, medicine)

SmartAnalyst is currently seeking a motivated analyst with experience of having worked with diverse real world databases to join its RWE data analytics team. Responsibilities include:

  • Conceptualizing design of analysis plan for a project.

  • Carrying out the required analysis using SAS per the agreed analysis plan, and producing and presenting desired output

  • Interacting with engagement managers to understand client requirements and produce quality deliverables within agreed timelines.

  • Participating in internal discussions in shortlisting and selecting appropriate databases for a given business requirement of a client.

  • Supporting the business development team by assisting with proposals and making pitches to clients.

  • Investing in personal growth to take on leadership role within or of the team.

  • 2+ years of experience in personally carrying out analysis of longitudinal patient data, preferably with diverse experience of databases and diverse business objectives of the analysis

  • Familiarity with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and any other software for quantitative analysis

  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis will be an added advantage

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in working with cross-functional and matrixed teams

  • Strong attention to detail and work ethic

  • Ability and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment, including: willingness to take on responsibilities outside one's typical scope of work, resourcefulness with constrained resources, and passion for working collaboratively with other divisions of the company to leverage internal expertise.
