New York-Based firm Appoints Director of Consumer Healthcare

NEW YORK , March 12, 2008‚ SMARTANALYST, Inc., a pioneer in providing strategic research and analytics solutions for leading Life Science and Consumer Healthcare companies, announced today the recent appointment of Patrick Goss as a Director of Consumer Healthcare.

Goss will be responsible for directing consumer healthcare projects in the areas of global strategic planning, market and brand assessments, Rx to OTC switches and technology searches as well as new product development and revenue forecasting.

Goss joins SMARTANALYST from American Express where he drove growth in the High Value Customer Marketing, focusing on their highest spending card members. Prior to joining American Express, he was Product Director at Johnson & Johnson, working in skin-care and women's health on such products as Monistat, Purpose, StayFree and o.b.

Previously, Goss was an owner of and a senior naval architect at Hebert Engineering Corporation, a naval engineering firm based in San Francisco, CA, specializing in tanker design and operations. He was also a lead consultant to the United States Coast Guard and the International Maritime Organization on tanker regulations. Prior to Hebert, he was a deputy program manager at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division, where he created new concepts and developed contractor partnerships on submarine designs.

Goss earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. In addition, he holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Webb Institute.
